The town has a hotel, a car camp, private accommodation and about 10 other catering establishments (restaurants, cafes, taverns, pizzerias, pastry shops, etc.). Sućuraj has a significant fishing fleet and is also known for the production of quality wines and olive oil. The town has an elementary school, post office, ATM, ambulance, helicopter landing site, port office and several shops.
The easiest way to get to Sućuraj is by ferry from Drvenik on the Makarska Riviera. The ferry takes 25 minutes, runs 6-7 times a day in winter, and 12-20 times a day in summer. When you get off the ferry, you are already in Sućuraj, the ferry port is near the town center.
You can also get to Sućuraj by ferry from Split to Stari Grad and then from there to Sućuraj, but this is a longer, more expensive and tiring journey. Hvar town is 77 km away, Stari Grad is 60 km away and Jelsa is 50 km away.
